New EU 2021 VAT Rules for Ecommerce

The European Union (EU) is making important changes to its value-added tax (VAT) rules, which come into effect on July 1, 2021.

From 1 July 2021 the value added tax (VAT) exemption for the importation of goods with a value not exceeding EUR 22 will be removed. As a result, all goods imported to the EU will be subject to VAT. The Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) was created to facilitate and simplify the declaration and payment of VAT for distance sales of imported goods with a value not exceeding EUR 150.

From 1 July 2021, all commercial goods imported into the EU from a third country or third territory will be subject to VAT irrespective of their value. Thus, the buyer has to pay the VAT and usually a customs clearance fee charged by the transporter. Our product prices do not include all taxes. Thus, for EU buyers, we must require you to provide THE IMPORT ONE-STOP SHOP (IOSS) before sending your order in order to pay New EU 2021 VAT Rules for Ecommerce. Or the buyer must pay the value-added tax under the new EU rules when the package is cleared.
